Paul Zak, Ph.D.
The Moral Molecule: The Source of Love and Prosperity
Paul Zak, founding Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University, has been a vanguard in this new discipline. In 2004 his lab discovered that an ancient chemical in our brains, oxytocin, a reproductive hormone associated with breastfeeding, sex, and the bonding of mothers and babies, is in fact the molecule responsible for regulating trustworthiness, generosity, and empathy in both men and women in all stages of life: the moral molecule. He and his lab have conducted cutting edge research exploring oxytocin and its implication for everything from business to politics to religion. Zak has appeared on Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, NOVA, ABC, and NPR. He will illuminate the Inside Edge “HUG PROCESS.” www.moralmolecule.com www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-moral-molecule |
